The iPhone 4 will hit the market Thursday and a wave of excitement has washed over techies, current iPhone users, and prospective buyers looking to see what the latest arrival will hold. As it stands, the iPhone 4 comes with a bigger battery, giving users 10 hours of Wi-Fi Web browsing and seven hours of 3G calling. Sleeker than its predecessor with flat front and back glass surfaces, the iPhone 4 looks like a strong contender in the increasingly competitive world of smartphones. But are the differences enough to make customers switch? Take a look at these key changes.

Front-Facing Camera: One of the biggest iPhone 4 touts is its front-facing camera for video calling. iPhone 4 users will be able to chat with each other using an app called FaceTime anywhere a Wi-Fi connection is available. Upgraded video: The iPhone 4 also comes with a larger five megapixel rear camera with a new LED flash, an upgrade from the 3GS’s three megapixel camera. Record in HD and editor your video using the iMove app. Multitasking: This is something iPad and iPhone users have been waiting for: the ability to run several applications at once. At the World Wide Developers Conference, Jobs showed 12 applications running simultaneously. Along with multitasking, iPhone 4 users will be able to create folders for their apps allowing for better organization. Sound enhancements: The newest addition to the iPhone family comes with a noise cancellation microphone located at the top of the device to block out background sound. It also comes with split volume buttons on the side of the smartphone. Retina Display: This smartphone shoots for more crisp clear images and texts with the use of a high pixel density which is four times the amount of pixels as the 3GS.
